Mary Kay Marks, owner of Remarks Designs is an artist and photographer who looks for art in the everyday experience. While traveling with her Canon camera, even when going to the grocery store  because she never knows what she will see. She is an avid birder and nature lover which shows in her subject focus.  

Born and raised in Rhode Island where she travels frequently is represented with ocean and coastal area scenes but don't be surprised to see a variety of new photos, images and subjects as she travels with her camera in the future.

It all started while working on a Mother’s Day gift. She took photographs of plants “blooming” in her spring garden to create a series of notecards for her mother. The notecards were seen by friends and family and she was encouraged to continue.  After being awarded a grant from the  New York State Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts thru CNY Arts, she had her first art opening called
"Blooms From Being Planted."  She has decided to keep the name for her flora photography and photographic images.

As her eye matured, she started capturing very diverse subjects but the Silent Auction for the "Get To The Point" Road Race gave her a new focus, the Point Judith Lighthouse.  Over the years she supplied photos for the yearly family run event and it continues to be one of her favorite RI locations to visit for a photo shoot.

This website is the result of more than ten years of "finding art in the every day experience" wherever  she goes and finally taking some time to publish information on her  line of Art Tags, Greeting Cards and Prints.
